SUMMARY:Online-Symposium: Contemporary art conservation revisited
DESCRIPTION:This international two-day symposium celebrates the 20-year anniversary of the HKB’s contemporary art conservation program and will reflect on evolving roles and practices in the field. \n27.01.2022 bis 28.01.2022 – Online + Live streaming (Grosse Aula\, Fellerstrasse 11\, Bern) \nThe contemporary art conservation program’s launch was a response to changing contemporary artists’ practices and a commitment to the preservation of artworks outside traditional disciplines\, embodying unconventional technologies and materials. The necessity of a different approach to care for and treat these works of art is reflected in its curriculum\, incorporating methodologies and techniques from social sciences\, affirming the importance of documentation as a preservation strategy\, and corroborating the significance of artistic concepts within a decision-making process. \nLooking back on the last 20 years\, we can observe shifts in the field of contemporary art conservation\, which compel us to (re)define our roles and question existing structures and modes of operating. A variety of perspectives and positions will reflect on these developments\, both pioneering and recent\, and will serve as the foundational framework to consider new tools\, new skills\, and new thinking needed within the field and our training programs. \nInformation and registration

SUMMARY:Online-Vortrag: Tagesleuchtfarben und Siebdrucke
DESCRIPTION:Seit 1988 bietet Technoseum Mannheim im Rahmen des Restaurierungskolloquiums ein Podium für aktuelle Fragen an\, das sich mit dem Themenfeld der Erhaltung und Bewahrung von Kunst- und Kulturgut beschäftigt. \n\n\nAufgrund der aktuellen Lage\, bedingt durch die Corona-Pandemie\, werden die Vorträge digital über die Plattform Cisco webex durchgeführt und sobald es wieder möglich ist\, soll eine Präsenzveranstaltung angeboten werden. \n\n\nEine Einwahl ist über die Webseite des TECHNOSEUM möglich: www.technoseum.de   \n\n\nBeginn: 18:00 Uhr \nAm 27.01.2022 spricht Papier-Restauratorin Anna Katharina Meisen M.A. vom LVR Pulheim über „Tagesleuchtfarben und Siebdrucke – Untersuchungen zu Alterungsverhalten\, Lumineszenz und Restaurierung“. \nAusgehend von der Siebdruckserie „Marilyn“ von Andy Warhol aus dem Museum Ludwig\, Köln beschäftigt sich dieser Vortrag mit Tagesleuchtfarben im Kontext der der Siebdrucktechnik. Ein Überblick über die chemischen\, physikalischen und (kunst-)historischen Grundlagen der Tagesleuchtfarben bildet den Ausgangspunkt für das Verständnis der besonderen Farbmittel und die Untersuchung dieser. Die Ergebnisse der Lumineszenz-Untersuchung\, der systematischen Lösungsmitteltests sowie von verschiedenen Alterungsversuchen an unterschiedlichen Siebdruckfarben werden im folgenden Vortrag vorgestellt. Zum Abschluss werden praktische Restaurierungsmaßnahmen an der Siebdruckserie „Marilyn“ erläutert und bewertet.
