SUMMARY:International Colloquium on Mural Preservation
DESCRIPTION:Invitation to the International Colloquium on the Preservation of Murals at Emmaus Monastery\nDear Colleagues \nWe warmly invite you to the International Colloquium on the findings of the DBU-funded research project „Preventive Conservation\, Securing and Preservation of the Cycle of Murals in the Emmaus Monastery in Prague”\n(AZ 38228/01). \nThe three-day colloquium will take place from May 22 to 24\, 2025\, hosted at the historic Emmaus Abbey in Prague and will include: \n\nDay 1: Presentation of the mural paintings and the DBU project investigations and results.\nDay 2: International experts share their insights on aesthetic aspects and other presentation issues\, followed by group discussions.\nDay 3: Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy an excursion to medieval wall painting sites in Prague.\n\nThe research project and event are carried out by partners from the Cologne Institute of Conservation Sciences (TH Köln)\, the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart\, and the University of Pardubice\, Faculty of Restoration in Litomyšl. \nFor further information and programme \nJoin us at the colloquium\, which will unite various experts to explore the medieval wall painting cycle and engage in discussions on preservation and presentation challenges. \nPlease check out the attached programme and feel free to share it in your network.
