SUMMARY:21st ICOM-CC Triennial Conference in Oslo
DESCRIPTION:The Norwegian National Organizing Committee for ICOM-CC 2026 welcomes you to the 21st ICOM-CC Triennial Conference in Oslo 14-18 September 2026. The conference will be accompanied by a broad program of events\, before and after the conference\, at venues throughout Norway. \nConservators\, scientists\, curators\, and other museum professionals are invited to experience “the Norwegian Miracle” – a phrase coined by Swiss curator and art historian Hans Ulrich Obrist. “The Norwegian Miracle” describes the recent revisioning of the cultural landscape of Oslo. For more than a decade\, a significant investment has been made into institutions dedicated to art\, cultural heritage\, and conservation in Oslo. The capital of Norway has become a truly cultural destination. Several major initiatives in Norway’s museum sector have resulted in The Munch Museum which opened in 2021\, the National Museum in 2022\, and the new Museum of the Viking Age\, scheduled for completion in 2026. These exceptional new museum buildings are driving the production of new knowledge and helping to strengthen the conservation field. \nOslo is a compact venue where events\, social programs\, and accommodation can be planned within walking distance of each other\, allowing more time for conference activities\, and for conversations and meetings. \nThe theme for the 2026 triennial conference is: Cultural Connections in Conservation. \nConference Website \nEarly bird prices until 15.05.2026

SUMMARY:Textil und geistliches Leben im mittelalterlichen Kirchenraum
DESCRIPTION:„Textil und gesitliches Leben im mittelalterlichen Kirchenraum“\nTagung der Kulturstiftung Sachsen-Anhalt in Kooperation mit dem Landesamt für Denkmalpflege und Archäologie Sachsen-Anhalt im Dom zu Halberstadt \n\nam 18. und 19. September 2026 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDer Dom St. Stephanus und St. Sixtus zu Halberstadt und der in der Domklausur verwahrte Domschatz stellen ein einzigartiges Bau-\, Kirchen- und Kulturdenkmal von europäischem Rang dar. Mit mehr als 1250 noch erhaltenen\, zumeist mittelalterlichen Kunstwerken zählt der Domschatz zu den national bedeutendsten Kirchenschätzen und ist das größte Ensemble überwiegend mittelalterlicher Sakralkunst außerhalb des Vatikans. Allein der Textilbestand umfasst über 500 Objekte\, darunter sind die ältesten gewirkten Bildteppiche der Welt\, Antependien\, Decken und Tücher zur Altarauskleidung und 86 vollständig erhaltene Gewänder. Für den Gottesdienst vor Ort bestimmt\, vermitteln sie Einblicke in die Liturgie einer Bischofskirche und dokumentieren damit das religiöse Leben am Dom. \nAnlässlich der von Barbara Pregla und Anja Preiß erarbeiteten fünfbändigen Publikation dieses Bestandes\, die jüngst erschien\, stellt diese Tagung die liturgischen Textilien in ihrer Verwendung im mittelalterlichen Kirchenraum der römischlateinischen Kirche in den wissenschaftlichen Fokus. Der Blick richtet sich dabei nicht nur auf die Halberstädter Textilien\, sondern auch auf Paramente anderer Kathedralkirchen in Deutschland und Europa. \nWeitere Informationen zum Tagungsprogramm und Anmeldung
