Invitation to the International Colloquium on the Preservation of Murals at Emmaus Monastery
Dear Colleagues
We warmly invite you to the International Colloquium on the findings of the DBU-funded research project „Preventive Conservation, Securing and Preservation of the Cycle of Murals in the Emmaus Monastery in Prague”
(AZ 38228/01).
The three-day colloquium will take place from May 22 to 24, 2025, hosted at the historic Emmaus Abbey in Prague and will include:
- Day 1: Presentation of the mural paintings and the DBU project investigations and results.
- Day 2: International experts share their insights on aesthetic aspects and other presentation issues, followed by group discussions.
- Day 3: Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy an excursion to medieval wall painting sites in Prague.
The research project and event are carried out by partners from the Cologne Institute of Conservation Sciences (TH Köln), the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart, and the University of Pardubice, Faculty of Restoration in Litomyšl.
